Andy’s passion for art is matched only by his passion to see art ‘working’ in the lives of both young and old to do them good. His work in our school is testament to that. Not only is Andy’s enthusiasm for art infectious, but his way of ‘doing art’ fosters self-worth and well-being amongst all those taking part. As children in our school have participated in Andy’s workshops, we have seen them grow in self-esteem – demonstrating a real sense of achievement and pride, which bubbles over into other areas of their school lives. Andy’s workshops are not only art-orientated, but almost therapeutic – an oasis of art-inspired calm in a busy and often troubled world.
